Our pork is processed at Coon Creek Packing in Caro and picked up directly from them, or processed at Muxlow's in Brown City in which case we will bring it back to Caro for pickup if you prefer. For a map and current hours see the "Delivery Options" page.

The processors cut and package the meat, but the bacon and hams are sent out to Walsh Packing in Pigeon for their well-known and sought after smoking services. Upon return, Coon Creek packages most cuts in vacuum sealed clear plastic. This makes it easier to see exactly what is in each package, and it allows for thawing in water if you forget and need to do that (umm, yes please!). This costs more, but many of our customers have said they really like it and feel it is worth the price. Coon Creek also provides sturdy cardboard boxes for transport so you do not need to bring coolers unless you're traveling a long distance on a hot day. Meat processed there must be picked up directly from them, farm pickup is not available.
Coon Creek charges a $12.50 butcher fee per quarter and $0.99 per pound of hanging weight for processing (as of spring 2022).

Muxlow's packages their meat in freezer paper (and white plastic pouches for the bulk ground meats) and their processing is typically less expensive.

2024 DATES:
October 7th butcher date - meat should be ready for pickup later in October.
October 21st butcher date - meat should be ready for pickup early in November.

TOTAL PRICE:
Half pigs typically cost between $330 and $405 TOTAL with processing and everything.
Whole pigs typically cost between $650 and $800 TOTAL with processing and everything.
NOTE: Whole pigs are not usually twice the price of half pigs. This is partly because we do a lesser price per pound on wholes, and partly because the processor typically keeps the smaller pigs as wholes and splits the larger ones for people wanting halves.
The estimate listed for wholes is a bit higher than our average in past years to be safe, but we actually expect the pigs to be much smaller than normal this year so order accordingly.
These are rough estimates, the exact price will vary depending on the weight of the pig.
